The human brain is the most complex structure in the known universe. Brain For Business is a new series of events at Science Gallery Dublin, that explores the latest findings from neuroscience and psychology and applies them to the world of business and entrepreneurship. Hosted by Jess Kelly from Newstalk, the series will feature neuroscientist Shane O’Mara in conversation with some of Ireland’s leading business experts.

For the second installment, we will be joined by Dr. Aoife Lyons. Aoife is a Licensed Clinical Psychologist, and Director of Educational Initiatives at Alltech. Alltech is a leading global biotechnology company whose mission is to improve the health and performance of people, animals and plants through natural nutrition and scientific innovation. Aoife is involved in hiring excellent talent, directing the Career Development Program, mentoring employees, and facilitating cross-cultural communication. The conversation will draw from Aoife’s previous experience as a practicing clinical psychologist, and now as the Director of Educational Initiatives at Alltech where she has pioneered innovative approaches to selecting, managing and creative and entrepreneurial thinking in a large and complex organisation with more than 4000 employees. Aoife and Shane will explore the science behind choosing successful brains for business. The conversation will focus especially on issues concerning person perception and evaluation and brand perception and evaluation.
